This treatment is best for stones which have a size of about 2 cm in diameter. Under this, the
patient is admitted just before few hours of the surgery. He/she is given some
sedative before the surgery. A bag filled with water is placed on the abdomen of the patient. This is done to ensure
that shock wave targets the stone precisely.
Then about 1000-2000 shock waves are given to
patient which crushes the stones into smaller parts. These parts come out
